Movement to Stillness Meditation
Have you ever tried to sit still in meditation but rather than arriving at a quiet, peaceful mind, found your mind racing, your body restless, and then judged yourself harshly for "failing"?
This “movement to stillness” approach to meditation was designed to address the modern day human’s needs by working with the body to literally shake off restless energy and express emotions physically before bringing ourselves naturally into a state of stillness and quietude.
This 1-hour meditation practice is divided into four 15-minute segments that will help you unlearn the energy of efforting and instead find relaxation, peace and self-acceptance in a meditation practice.
Please bring your own mat for this class, chairs can be provided if needed as well.
A portion of the proceeds will go to support the National Alliance for Mental Illness of Portland.
EVENT LOCATION & DETAILS
This event will be outside on the patio of the Appasionata Estate, so please dress accordingly. The morning sun will be a lovely feature to this pratice and fabulous way to kick off your day and weekend. For those who are intersted, there will be a glass of wine for after class- just be sure to select your ticket accordingly which states that.
The class will begin promptly at 9am, so be sure to arrive 10 mins early to find your space and set up a mat. For those who would like to stay for wine after, you are all invited to stay after class to enjoy the view and a glass! Bottle purchases are also available as well.
Please note: The minimum for this class will be 12 people, if there is not enough in attendance this class will be cancelled and your money will be refunded.
There is ramp access and there are no stairs to access the patio.
